Field trips to The Neon Museum are not always accessible to all of Southern Nevada. If you cannot bring your classroom to learn at the 霓虹灯墓地, we'll deliver the lessons to you through our 车轮上的博物馆 program.

车轮上的博物馆 is an exciting new program that brings the museum right to your classroom!  Boxes are free to use for two weeks at a time and are delivered FREE to CCSD schools in the Las Vegas area, thanks to our amazing sponsors: MGM Resorts International and OAG Community Initiatives.  

Contents include lesson plans, photographs, books, touchable artifacts, and much more.

教育 programming at The Neon Museum includes NVACS standards-aligned tours and activities in the 霓虹灯墓地 for students in grades 3 through 12. We offer three focuses for field trips: Social Studies/Social Justice, 视觉艺术, 和科学/工程. Field trips are only on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:30 - 11:00 AM. Chaperone/student ratio: 1 adult per 10 students. 每次实地考察最多40名学生. No-show groups who do not provide at least 24 hours notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.

Dazzling Descriptors (Grades K-2)

Students will learn about The Neon Museum, 排版,  the history of sign design and neon, and its function in the Las Vegas community. They will then design their first initial in a style inspired by signs in the museum’s collection and decorate the border with adjectives that describe them.

Fabulous Float-Making: Self-Expression & Celebrating Community (Grades 3-5)

在本课中, students will be introduced to Raul Rodriguez, designer of the Flamingo Hotel sign in 1976. They will learn about his background as a Rose Parade float designer. Students will also learn fun facts about flamingo birds and the Flamingo Wildlife Habitat. Inspired by the Flamingo Hotel sign and Raul Rodriguez, students will construct a mini-float on top of shoe boxes. Students will be challenged to create “show-stopper” designs that celebrate our community and ourselves, using accessible materials found at home.

 Paper Circuit Cards (Grades 4-8)

Students will learn about electric circuits and explore iconic Las Vegas signs and architecture. They will then create a sign-inspired greeting card using a simple circuit that lights up an LED in their design.
